Staircase running is a high-intensity exercise. Runners are recommended to have enough cardio and muscle training before the race. More practices could prevent overload of the knees and leg muscles.
Do warm-up and cool-down exercises before and after your training to reduce the risk of injury and muscle pain.
A high quality sleep routine can help you to recover and keep you in good shape. To ensure good performance, please take good rest one week before the race.Business Associates
Carbohydrates are the most important form of fuel for exercises. The complex carbohydrates foods listed below contain abundant dietary fiber and low fats:
Intake of protein, from skinless chicken, fish and tofu, for example, supports muscle growth and recovery. Vegetables and fruits can supplement vitamins and minerals you loss after workouts.
Last but not least, drink more water!
* No baggage storage will be available on-site. Please minimize your belongings or leave them to your accompanying members.
To let your body get ready for the race, runners should spend 15-30 minutes to do warm-up and stretching exercises.
You are most welcomed to join the warm-up sessions led by professional trainers from Fitness First. (Event Details – Warm Up Sessions)
Please eat in appropriate portion size before race. Banana and snacks would be provided for runners to replenish loss of electrolytes after the race.
Don’t stress, just do you best. If you feel unwell during the race, please notify our staff immediately. First-aiders from St. John Ambulance will be on duty for immediate assistance.
The Walk UP Jardine House will be cancelled if the red or black rainstorm signal, or typhoon signal #3 or above, is hoisted on or before 6:00am on 28th April 2019.
The outdoor activities will be suspended if the amber rainstorm or thunder storm is hoisted during the event. All participants should immediately go to a safe place to stay temporarily.
